In the Talampaya National Park, the pride of the peoples of La Rioja as regards geography, is the Ciudad Perdida, the most extensive route in Talampaya. The journey - like the entire park - is a trip to the beginning of time.
Today where you might see a sleepy lizard resting in the sun, it is hard to believe that the first dinosaurs once passed along the same ground: the Lagosuchus Talampayensis was discovered in this very park, one of the oldest dinosaurs on the planet.
Since this is a little visited area of the park, it is very possible to see beautiful examples of the local fauna, like a pair of maras (Patagonian hares) leaping through the undergrowth...
