The Ischigualasto Provincial Park - or the Valley of the Moon - is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular marvels that our country can offer you. Its name is a Quechua word which means: Site of the reposing moon.
The valley is located in the northwest of the province of San Juan, in the department of San Agustín de Valle Fértil; located in a region that millions of years ago was a lake with abundant vegetation that was propitious for the life of different species of vertebrates. Today, the desert climate is one of the striking features of the place, with very little rainfall throughout the summer, strong, gusting winds and extreme temperatures.
